Water Heater Annual Maintenance
Water heater manufacturers highly recommend an annual safety checkup and
regular maintenance of your water heater. These annual inspections are
essential to the safe operation and extended life of your water heater
and keep the manufacturer warranties in place.
- Carbon Monoxide testing – To help keep your family safe from this
very dangerous and odorless gas.
- Temperature and pressure relief valve and expansion tank
testing – These devises keep your water heater from exploding from the
excess pressures that happen when heating water.
- Flushing sediments out of the water heater – When water is heated, it leaves behind
sediments that build up in the bottom of your tank and over time is the
leading causes of tank failures and leaks.
- Anode rod check – This hidden device in
every water heater is what keeps the inside of the tank from decaying
and leaking before the expected life (warranty)
of the water heater is
up.

Energy Star Rating For Tax Credits
Please ask us about what types of water heaters and equipment qualifies
for the Federal Tax Credit.
- Homeowners who install solar water heaters, geothermal heat pumps
and wind energy systems are eligible for a tax credit of up to 30%
of the entire cost, including both labor and materials.
Previously, caps on these types of projects ranged from $2000 to
$4000, but the government has removed all caps and will essentially
pay out an unlimited amount in tax credits for these systems.
Don’t miss out on your opportunity to take
advantage of the recently passed stimulus package. The government will
not be doing this forever, so be sure to purchase and install what you
need before this amazing offer expires.
2010 / 2011 HVAC Tax Credits
What if you could make home improvements that increase your comfort,
lower your energy costs, add value to your home, and also do something
good for the environment? And what if you could get some money back from
Uncle Sam at the same time?
Updated Tax Incentives for Homeowners
Part of the tax extender bill passed by congress in December 2010 made
significant changes to tax incentives for federal tax payers who install
qualified energy efficient retrofits in their home, including higher
efficiency heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment in
their primary residences. An eligible taxpayer may claim up to $500 in
tax credits, subject to caps based on the type of equipment installed.
You may now qualify for tax credits equal to 10% of the costs (up to a
$300 limit) for installing high efficiency central air conditioner, heat
pump, or hot water heater. You may also qualify for tax credits equal to
10% of the costs (up to a $150 limit) for installing a qualified furnace
or hot water boiler. A smaller tax credit of 10% of the installed cost
(up to a $50 limit) is available for installing a system with an
advanced main air circulating fan.
If I claimed more than $500 in tax credits under the previous tax credit
program, am I still eligible?
No. The new law reinstates the lifetime tax credit limits, which
disqualify any homeowner who has claimed more than $500 in 25c tax
credits since January, 1, 2005, from any other credits.
But call us anyway if you are interested in energy efficient furnaces
and air conditioners…48% of our customers that called last year to try
and utilize their tax credit for a new system, in fact didn’t use it,
because we found a more cost effective solution that met their budget,
and was almost as energy efficient and comfortable as the higher-end
systems that do qualify.
Why You Should Consider an Upgrade Regardless of The Federal Tax
Incentives
Advances in technology over the last 10 years mean that today’s higher
efficiency HVAC equipment uses less energy, runs more quietly, and
provides improved indoor air quality and comfort. And by using less
energy and improved refrigerants, your new HVAC equipment is much better
for the environment. Most homeowners would like to reduce their energy
bills with higher efficiency HVAC equipment and these tax credits help
make the initial investment more affordable.
Call today and talk to one of your comfort advisors at Allen Service

your comfort, health, and budget.
