Fort Collins Plumber Tip #2: Check your faucets
Filed under: Bathroom Repair, Faucet Repair, Kitchen Repair, Plumbing Repair
Make it part of your spring cleaning and maintenance routine to check every faucet in your Fort Collins area home. Check for drips, which waste water and cost you money. Look for leaks around the faucet when you turn it on or off. Check for wetness on or puddles, mildew or corrosion under connections between the faucet and supply hoses. Any leaks may mean it’s time to replace the faucet. Run all faucets to make sure the water flows freely. If a faucet is slow (low water pressure), it may mean there’s a build-up of sediment in the faucet itself, or a problem with the water line. Run the outside faucets, checking for strong water pressure, dripping and for leaks where the pipe goes through the exterior wall of your home. If it leaks, it may indicate a cracked pipe that needs to be replaced.
Maintaining your faucets is a simple way to save money on water, reduce damage to the walls and floors around the faucets and generally make them more effective. If you’re not sure how to replace a faucet, call in a Allen Service Plumbing expert to do it for you. We serve Fort Collins, Loveland, Laporte, Bellevue, Windsor, Timnath, Severance, Ault, Eaton, Johnstown, Milliken, Berthoud, and Wellington.
